Meet William E. Clark
Bill is a professional in dispute resolution with a unique background and more than 30 years of legal/trial experience. He attended Eastern Michigan University where he majored in German and minored in Political History. He received a Bachelor of Arts Degree in 1967 followed by a Master’s Degree in Education Administration. He served as a classroom instructor in the Utica, Michigan school system for seven years teaching German, History and Civics.
After completing his studies for the Master’s Degree, Bill enrolled in the Detroit College of Law’s (now Michigan State University) night school program. He finished the four year course in three and a half years. After graduation he became associated with the staff counsel firm of the Travelers Insurance Company. In 1978 he co-founded the firm of Clark and Knight, A Professional Corporation.
Bill has served as a Judge in the Michigan State University College of Law Appellate Advocacy Competition as well as serving as a Trial Judge in the Trial Competition conducted by Eastern Michigan University.

Clark and Knight functioned as an active trial firm, handling major case litigation for 26 years. During that time, Bill represented both plaintiffs and defendants in personal injury, commercial, and general civil and domestic relations matters. In addition to the lower level district, circuit, and federal courts, he successfully represented clients in the Michigan Court of Appeals, Michigan Supreme Court, and the U.S. District Court of Appeals (published opinions). Bill was admitted to practice in the U.S. Supreme Court in 2005. Bill has also served as a top-rated Institute of Continuing Legal Education lecturer.
